SOFA!

I'm about to take off for the day—I've got one appointment with a student, and then off I go to clean and cook and get ready for a party at my place tonight. UMM has a long-standing tradition of weekly social gatherings, and this one that I'm hosting is called SOFA, or Something On Friday Afternoon, even though it's more of an evening thing. Anyway, it's a wide open potluck kind of event with a lively bunch of academics and others, and everyone is invited. You, too, if you're reading this. Don't bother to RSVP, just show up. Festivities start around 5:30, and go on until whenever.

I'm fixing a big ol' pot of jambalaya, and will be picking up a good supply of beer and wine. Weather looks like it's going to be decent, so we'll be able to spill out onto the deck. You're going to be missing a fun time if you keep on sitting there surfing the web, you know…
